Leadership Programme for Female Professors in Executive Positions

"It is a rich experience to stop for a moment in the everyday rush and reflect on what is pushing us on, what we wanted and want to achieve, how we want to achieve it and at the same time being able to restore our inner balance. All participants came into the programme from completely different work areas which made the experience that more rewarding and fascinating. There are also options for interdisciplinary research here.

I found it a privilege, that the programme does not seek 'one size fits all' strategies, but individual custom-made solutions, which is rare in our everyday university routine."

Caroline von Humboldt Professorship

"The Caroline von Humboldt Professorship is a high and visible recognition, not least for disciplines beyond the mainstream like gender studies and critical approaches within legal studies. Thanks to the large freedom provided by the programme, I can use the funding to benefit young talents and the promotion of legal and gender studies. This is achieved through the establishment of positions for young researchers and enable them to enrich the research on the bridge between gender and legal studies."

Caroline von Humboldt Grant Programme

"The Grant Programme fills a gap in the support and promotion of young researchers by targetly supporting young female scientists financially in the difficult transition periods of their academic careers. The short term scholarship allowed me to start my PhD. I was able to concentrate on my academic work for six straight months and develop an exposé, with which in turn I could apply for constant funding of my PhD-project. Additionally, the scholarship enabled me to start with empirical research for my project."

Caroline von Humboldt Grant Programme

"Thanks to the short term scholarship, I was able to develop the exposé to my PhD thesis and apply for long term funding. I was also able to participate in several conferences, workshops and Summer Schools for PhD students. The exchange with other young researchers helped me a lot to refine the idea and plan for my own research. No less important for a successful start into my PhD-project was the close connection to my institute at Humboldt-University, which would not have been possible without transitional funding between graduation and the beginning of my PhD."

Humboldt Research Track Scholarships

"The Research Track Scholarship gave my the time I needed to refine my extensive research project. Additionally it enabled me to gain a foothold in the academia by teaching and publishing. The funding was an optimal support to bridge the gap between graduation and PhD and plan the further funding of my PhD studies."

Humboldt Post-Doc Scholarship

"With the funding I can prepare my research project on examining the isotropy of the speed of light and at the same time write an application for third-party funding to finance the project to the end. To do this, a certain amount of preparation is essential, which the Post-Doc Scholarship enables me to. The funding also allowed me to start my Post-Doc phase with an exciting project in Berlin. That is of outmost importance to me since I have two little kids who should not be torn from their home by the academic work of their mother."

KOSMOS Workshop

"The KOSMOS Workshop 'Poststroke depression: Integrating neurobiological, medical, and psychosocial perspectives' was an excellent setting for our international gathering. The timing of the workshop was perfect for our work group. We are in the process of building our research topic, have published first results and want to establish prospects for the future. The personal contact with international colleagues is essential even in the digital age. When you know the leading researchers of your field personally, you can approach them straightforward to ask about research applications our stays abroad for you academic talents.

The great feedback here in Berlin was equally important to us, since it surpassed our expectations for an event with such heavy competition held during the academic holidays."

KOSMOS Summer University

"The Summer University 'Human sociality and the brain. Decision making in social contexts' allowed us to invite the most important international researchers in the young field of Social Neuroscience to Berlin and deepen the contact with them. Not least because of the good atmosphere and the intensive exchange, we were able to get several researchers to stay at Humboldt-Universität longer and establish lasting cooperation in a Master's programme. It was equally important to us to include the students. They needed to apply with an own project and were able to extent it into a real research application in the course of the Summer University."
