Selection criteria for Humboldt Research Track and Post-Doc Scholarships

Selection Committee of the Institutional Strategy Funding Lines for Promoting Young Researchers

The following criteria must not be evaluated individually but rather must be included in the overall assessment of the applicant’s eligibility. Particular consideration will be given to impairments due to disabilities or chronic illnesses.

  1. Assessment of the applicant’s academic qualification and performance:

 

  1. Proof of examinations passed and academic certificates (Master’s degree, doctorate)
  2. Notable achievements, distinctions and prizes
  3. Publications
  4. Assessment in accompanying letter of recommendation
     
  1. Assessment of the research project:
     
  1. Scientific quality and originality of the proposal
  2. Relevance to the field
  3. Collaboration with other working groups and/or disciplines
  4. International cooperation as part of the project
  5. Assessment in accompanying expert review (only for Research Track)

 

  1. Assessment of the applicant’s personality:

 

  1. Level of commitment, duration of study, accuracy of the documents
  2. International experiences while studying and/ or doing a doctorate
  3. Interdisciplinary orientation of previous work and experience (study, internships, positions held)
  4. Extracurricular activities
  5. Special personal or family circumstances
